About

Marjorie Saylor has been active in local and faith-based communities assisting groups to understand the trauma from the perspective of victims of child sexual abuse and sexual assault as a teenage girl. She explains vulnerabilities and risks of human trafficking, as she shares her story of hope and reclaiming her life. Marjorie is a mother and spends time mentoring young girls, as well as families that are struggling with the impact and reality of abuse. Marjorie has two AA degrees in the social sciences, and a certificate in Biblical counseling. She has been called on by her past professors to offer victim centered presentations on human trafficking, domestic violence, and the dangers of pornography. She sees sharing as an opportunity to shed light on an issue that has a global impact on the life and health of women and children. Marjorie became involved with Runaway Girl and the Sowers Education Group early on in her journey to educate the world about human trafficking and has been an affiliate member of each since 2014. She is now working as a Director of Client Care of a residential housing program for a non-profit that helps women escape sex trafficking, the new Founder and CEO of her own NonProfit which aims to aid in filling the existing gaps in services to victims of human trafficking, the current Board President and Founding Member of the Survivor Leader Network of San Diego which aims to provide survivor leadership, voice, and collaboration on a community wide level, and recognized as a nationwide Abolitionist through the New Yorks New Abolitionists Campaign.
As a full-time advocate, activist and mother Marjorie is determined to work toward a better world for her daughter, and all children who are at risk of exploitation. As a survivor of child abuse and sexual assault, Marjorie understands the possible push factors that victims of sexual exploitation may experience. Her experience as a survivor of trafficking as a young adult, makes her aware that not every person who is trafficked understands immediately that they have been victimized, coerced, or forced into a situation that will result in threats of violence, rape and overall psychological, spiritual and social harms. Her additional experience with domestic violence is not told as an isolated incident, but as part of a spectrum of abuse and harm that began as a child.
